Cause Why
What inspires us to venture down a certain path in life amidst what appears to be a fractured, chaotic world? How can we be guided by a purpose in a landscape of distraction?
New Poem
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, I took my master’s degree in poetry and attempted to apply it to the world of profits and non-profits. I started a business dedicated to helping organizations unearth, capture and communicate their noble purpose (with the emphasis on noble). Guided by the trademarked ‘A business isn’t a brand to be built, but a caused to be believed in’, the key was to truthfully answer the question ‘why we are here’ versus ‘what we do’. The work was rewarding and meaningful and provided the privilege of meeting thought and action leaders who yearned to make, in their unique way, the world a better place. This search for purpose continues today, only now I am led by the cause of deepening and widening the distribution of poetic wealth. How can something poetic make the world a better place, or, even make one life a little better? In a time where there are seemingly infinite and exhausting demands and temptations for attention, how can this message get noticed, let alone have an effect? Likewise, how do you continue to live your ‘why’ in this attention grabbing world? Please click on arrow to listen to poem ‘Cause’.

Looks like I still have your attention which is wonderful! I have included a haiku based on the traditional format of three lines with the first and third lines having five syllables and the center line having seven. The goal is to have the haiku reinforce the underlying message of the post, in this case the idea of ‘cause’. Please click on arrow to hear both haiku and couplet.
Just The Two Of Us
A couplet is featured here based in the traditional two line, rhyming form. As with the haiku, the goal is to have the couplet reinforce the underlying message of this specific post.
