Friend
Can a friend be found in the most unexpected person. Can a friend take the form of a belief? Or experience? A place? How do you define 'friend'? Do you include yourself in that definition?
New Poem
Have you ever experienced a moment or moments when you feel isolated or abandoned and without a friend in sight? This poem explores the possibility that we are never in the absence of a friend. The yearning to both be a friend and have a friend is a core part of being human. Believing a friend or friends are present on both sides of a polarized world can begin to erode our division. Is ‘befriending a stranger’ a misnomer if the reality is there are no strangers in the world? What if we embraced the idea that we are all friends yet to be discovered. These discoveries can be more vital than ever during our current state of affairs. What if familiarity doesn’t in fact breed contempt but instead nurtures understanding and caring.
