Someone you know, 200 year old seeds of content and not so mean mosquitoes
Welcome to this latest post from Armstrong Words. I hope you are continuing to enjoy what is created and shared here. If there is someone you would like to share this with, please feel free to do so.
A new poem
This poem is first prompted by the passing this last week of my Mom’s sister, my sweet Aunt Jean. She lived 36 years longer after my Mom passed - and that got me wondering about an age-old question (excuse the pun) ‘If you and I know we have X number of years longer to live, what will we do with them?’. With that in mind, the poem also is driven by the basic idea of why does someone decide to do one thing that is wonderful and someone (could be the very same person) do something destructive or hurtful. In the poem, the concept of ‘someone’ can take the form of an individual, an ideology, cause or a collective of humans. The actions can be positive, negative or a blur of both. The poem is underlined with the question of ‘does this someone exist in each and all of us?’.
A new word
This is the thirteenth word as part of the project of creating 26 new words in 2024. The new word, starting with the letter ‘M’, is inspired somewhat from working on the poem ‘Some Life We Live’ and how what we think and do creates who we are and who we can become.
Oh, the Humanity of it All
The “Oh, the Humanity of it All’ project shares recent human actions focused on hope, justice, inspiration and igniting action in others. It is written with the belief that putting ourselves in the shoes of others helps provide more understanding and insight into how people all over the world can take action that makes a difference - be it small or large. This is a summary of such actions taken during the previous two weeks
